Looking at the stickers may not work. If you can find the FCC ID number somewhere on the board, you can go to www.fcc.gov and navigate to the registration area, and this will tell you who made the pcb and what they called it. This ought to work for any mobo designed to be sold in the US.
It isn't necessary to open the case. When the computer first boots up, it shows the BIOS number in the bottom left of the screen. (You can usually push the "Pause" key to halt the boot process and allow you to write it down.) Search Google for that BIOS number and you can identify your mobo.
