Robert (also the suse and mandrake lists), I'm not sure if your the person to ask, but I'll tempt fate. Here is the situation: (1) I have a mandrake 7.2 box at work that has functioned as my poptop server from home for the past 2 years - no problems. The work server runs samba with a netbios workgroup name rb_law. The home network workgroup was also rb_law. (recently changed to skyline); (2) I recently set up a Suse 8.2 box on my home network to meet growing home computing needs. The suse box is also running samba for the home net, runs bind9 for name resolution, ddns via dhcpd and functions as the home network gateway; (3) after setting up the suse box at home, my poptop vpn connection to my work network stopped working?? The connection still accepts logins without problem, but I canot browse or access any of the shares on the office network. This was still while the home workgroup was rb_law (same as work); (4) I thought there may be a conflict with samba running at the office with workgroup rb_law and the samba server at home, also on workgroup rb_law, fighting over who would become the browse master -- so I did what seemed logical and changed the home network workgroup to skyline -- same results -- no joy. (5) I am at a loss as to how adding the linux box at home would screw up my pptpd connection at work. Win XP pro client at home. Any thoughts??
