What script should I run?
Here is a very short howto on installing OpenOffice. For details please refer to the pdf included with the download. . 1) Download the OOo 1.1.1 from http://download.openoffice.org/1.1.1/index.html 2) Extract OOo_1.1.1_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz into a temporary directory somewhere. 3) Open a shell terminal as root. (sux ) 4) As root change to the <temporary directory path>/OOo_1.1.1_LinuxIntel_install/ 5) Run the following command as root ./setup -net This installs openoffice in /opt//OpenOffice.org1.1.1 6) Now for each user you must run the following command /opt//OpenOffice.org1.1.1/setup and choose the default "Workstation Installation" One thing to watch is under the printer admin tool, spadmin, printer properties ---> Font Replacement the default is to enable font replacement for a number of popular fonts. When enabled I found it stuffed up the print outs. I suggest you turn this off if you have corrupted printing. Note: The printer & font admin is best done by root, otherwise each user has to make the same changes. -- Regards, Graham Smith ---------------------------------------------------------
