I'm having some trouble with a cron job that restarts apache as part of log rotation. Please note that I am purposely using a custom perl script instead of logrotate. At first I was getting errors about killproc and startproc: "no such command" which I solved by adding /sbin to the $PATH in my script. However I still have a problem regarding stty: Restarting apache at /root/script/ccs007weblogrotate-small.pl line 127. Shutting down httpd..done Starting httpd [ PERL SSL status ]Reloaded Brazossticks::Control stty: standard input: Invalid argument ..done [Please note that i have none of these problems during bootup or when calling rcapache start by hand] Looking at rcapache I see that the stty command are checking to see if apache is still waiting for an still passphrase before starting up. (we do use SSL, but don't have to type in a passphrase by hand). Obviously, there is no actually tty involved when the cron script is running, but apparently a bad exit code is generated anyway, causing cron to send an error report. At the very least I need a way to make cron not send an error when _this_particular_ error condition occurs. I would /like/ to fix it by doing something to make stty happy, preferably without modifying the apache initscript. Any ideas? Thanks, JW -------------------------------------------------------
