"Robert Rozman"
Hi,
I have Asus Pundit with Suse 9.0 and just cannot get cmos clock to be right across reboots. I'm not yet sure whether boot is messing clock, but still would like to ask what is "Setting CMOS clock" on boot doing and why does it take so long to do it? Can this somehow mess with my clock ?
I've just replaced CMOS battery, so this cause should be excluded....
Regards,
Hi Robert, I suspect you didn't: set the time: "date --set 14:55:25" will set the system time to 14:55:25; do: "hwclock --systohc" so that system time is copied to the cmos chip; and do: "rm /etc/adjtime" (all w/o quotes) so time adjusting scripts don't think that the clock was slow or fast, and repeat the adjustment automatically on boot. This question is often asked. See for Carlos' longer explaination: http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-linux-e/2003-Nov/0001.html Hope this helps, Gar -- __________________________________________________________________ Introducing the New Netscape Internet Service.
