When one brings up kppp & sets up a connection there is a drop-down list of prospective connection devices. I would like to add a device to that list so that I don't have to constantly change the /dev/modem symlink when I want to switch from my internal to an external modem.
Can someone help me with how to add the missing device? There *must* be a way... no?
AFAIK, the dropdown list only contains connectoin specific info, not hardware info. To do what you want, I would suggest going to Configure, Device and use the /dev/ttySx device instead of changing the symlink. You could leave the symlink alone. I use /dev/ttyS2 for mine, not /dev/modom. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM.
