Quoting Joe Polk
I would assume you're not running WEP? Have you managed to get this working? I've had problems, so I'm curious. <sigh>
I've never tried WEP as I use MAC Address security. Any MAC Address that the router doesn't know about gets refused access. Makes life easier and you haven't got the overhead of WEP. Adam

Does anyone here have wireless networking working under SuSE 9.0 using a Linksys WPC11 / BEFW11? If so, would you mind giving me a little help off-list?
Secondary question: If I can't get it working under Linksys, I'd consider changing wireless router and/or card. Can anyone recommend one that definitely works?
I can definately recommend the Netgear WG311 as it happily works with SuSE 9.0 as both a Software Access Point and a Wireless client connecting to another machine. Software also works very nicely with Windows. If you need to know more I'll check the driver it uses when I get home.
The only problem I have is that around where I live there are a number of unsecured wireless networks (ie no Encryption or MAC Address security), and occasionally it will change to a different network. I think that is due to Kwifimanager trying to stick to the network with the strongest signal.
