hi guys and gals,
my hdd is 80gb maxtor, three months ago, i partitioned it to four different areas via msdos fdisk. i set up dual boot on it win xp and suse 8.2. now, i cant use it because some unknown errors dont let me use it as usual. boot log says, an uncorrectable error on hda1, so i decided to erase all disk and set up suse 8.2 but partion table couldnt be changed, error message says, hda1 is only readable, you cant delete or add partition on hda1 because suse's partion manager doestnt recognize some sectors or other areas but i see my previous partition table as it is. what could i do to fix my hard disk for using my hard disk as past.
every comment is welcome...
Doesn't Maxtor ship their drives with a low level format program on floppy?
