Hey,
A bit new to SuSE myself, but shouldn't they be pushing 3.2 and other new versions through YOU? Or is YOU used only for patches while users still have to go manually find and update to whole new versions?
Thanks for any clarification on this.

Welcome to SuSE. In general SuSE goes for reliability and stability as opposed to bleeding edge, all the latest all the time packages. This is why you will find more servers running SuSE the MDK. They also backport security patches to the current version, incrementing the revision number so as to -not- break deps. They have also backported quite a bit of the 2.6 kernel into the current 2.4 kernel. Enjoy. Ken
