I have three machines, a desktop (Suse 9.0), A dell Laptop (Suse 9.0), a HP laptop (Windows XP Pro). I am trying to connect all machines via a wireless network. The dektop and Dell are using D-Link 54g cards, the HP is a Belkin 54g card. All machines are set the same, mode=Ad-Hoc, ESSID=sysol, channel 6, no encryption. All have static IP addresses 192.168.1.1, 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3 all have the same netmask 255.255.255.0
I can ping between the desktop and the HP laptop I can ping between the Dell and the HP laptop But I cannot ping between the Dell and the desktop.
Is this a feature of SuSe 9.0? It doesn't talk to itself? Both Dell and Desktop cards have been setup using Yast2, the firewall is disabled, there are no other interface cards in either machine and I have very little hair left!
Can somebody please help!
Thanks Phil Hope they are all connected via a single device ie hub/switch otherwise you will never ping between the Dell and the desktop
