I thought I'd try sticking the 3.1.94 kde betas on a little used machine, but konqueror crashes with sigabrt whenever it's started as a web browser - it starts ok in file viewing mode, and runs fine until invited to look at a web page, when it crashes instantly. It doesn't seem to matter what web page. I didn't remove kdebase3-suse before doing the upgrade, which I forced when the presence of kdebase3-suse was the sole remaining objection from rpm. Not good practice, I know, but since I am probably going to reinstall the machine I didn't care much. However, I'd like to know whether anyone else is having konq. crashes and if so how you set up the 3.2 betas.

Just last night I replied to such a question under the title KDE issues, you need to "rm /opt/kde3/lib/libkrpmview*". Regards Sid. Marshall Heartley wrote:
I have installed the new KDE 3.2 beta2 in my SuSE 9 system and I do like some of the things that they improved on but there are some issues that I would like to see if anyone can help me fix.
The first one is that the login manager kdm has lost the selection that will allow me to log into Gnome. How can I get it back?
I haven't noticed that, I shall have a look later when I reboot on 2.6.1-mm3.
The second one is no sooner than I try and start Konqueror as a web browser, it dies with a signal 6. If you need more output on this (eror messages), I will be glad to provide it.
Run konqueror from the command line so you can see the output, mine here complained about libkrpmview.la. Go to http://bugs.kde.org and search on "konqueror crash", then libkrpmview or whatever you see, in my case it said it was a suse thing and to "rm /opt/kde3/lib/libkrpmview*", but I moved it to /weeds, a directory I store stuff in just in case. First time it's not crashed, but yet to see if I'm completely out of the woods.
I will see about searching with Google through Mozilla but I thought that I would ask here because maybe someone may have had this issue before and could lead me in the right direction.
Sometimes it's just knowing where to look and bugs.kde.org is THE place.
Thanks!
