Hi All,
I am having this annoying little problem when I shut the system down. Sometimes my monitor does not shut off. The SuSE shutdown logo (with the progress bar under it) just stays there and stares at you. The computer powers down just fine. I then have to hold the power button for a few seconds for the monitor to shut off. It shuts down properly about 2/3 of the time..
Is there a setting somewhere that will insure that the goofy thing shuts off?

Russ, I think if you check, you'll find that your computer is not powering down at all. If you are still getting some video, then the video card must still be getting power to produce that. You could have a faulty ACPI motherboard and need to tell the computer not to use ACPI or at worse, you may need to do a manual power off on the computer. Check your manuals on ACPI for further explanation. Lee -- --- KMail v1.5.4 --- SuSE Linux Pro v9.0 --- Registered Linux User #225206 On any other day, that might seem strange...
