Okay, I'm not running Samba on this server but I am mounting W2K shares and then copying files off those shares to a real directory on this Linux server. One of the shares has a file that's 1.6G and it's taking over 1 and 1/2hrs to copy. The two servers are on the same subnet and running 100mbit. This seems excessive. I've read about smb tweaks for Samba, but can I do this just running the client side? Any ideas? Please, let's assume the servers are both powered on, able to ping, etc. etc. <<JAV>>
