-------------- ----------- --------------- ------------- | Windows NTFS | SuSE swap | SuSE reiserfs | Windows FAT | -------------- ----------- --------------- -------------
With NTFS partition it will be easy, I could use YaST or Partition Magic under Windows. But that about SuSEs space?
Is there any way to resize reiserfs partition?
Is it posible to move swap partition to this free space from NTFS and then on the rest of free space and the space after moving swap to resize SuSE main partition?[*]
... there are a couple of different ways to approach this. one would be a little more laborious to do. a) shrink ntfs; move swap; move reiserfs; grow reiserfs b) shrink ntfs; create new reiserfs; [use LVM] ... BTW: mtobler@linux:~> apropos reiserfs reiserfsck (8) - check a Linux Reiserfs file system mkreiserfs (8) - create a Linux ReiserFS file system reiserfstune (8) - (unknown subject) resize_reiserfs (8) - Reiserfs filesystem resizer debugreiserfs (8) - (unknown subject) mtobler@linux:~> i boot knoppix (from CD) to do (a) type of work. but, as i said, (a) is more laborious and there is the possibility of data/partition damage. you could use a couple of different variations of (b). maybe the space you're gaining from shrinking is enough to house /home? if so, do (b) and move /home to this new partition (or you could move one of other subdirs of / there). if you have all subdirs on /, then do (b) using the optional LVM specified. -- << http://michaeljtobler.homelinux.com/ >> Die, v.: To stop sinning suddenly. - Elbert Hubbard
