Hello, I have a partition containing an old install of SUSE 8.2. I reinstalled SUSE and want to find out which packages were installed on the old install. Does anyone know the rpm option (or other method) which can be used to list packages
Assuming the old partition includes both the old /bin and /var, and is mounted at (for example) /old, use /old/bin/rpm --dbpath /old/var/lib/rpm -qa|sort The older version of rpm is needed because the rpm database format changed from SuSE 8.2 to SuSE 9.0.
