Hi I'm trying to find out how does the gnome menu works. I read the http://www.gnome.org/learn/admin-guide/2.2/menustructureXXX but it seems like my system is completely different! Everything started when I was trying to edit the GDM configuration launcher in the System Tools menu and chance the "Command" from "gdmsetup" to "gnomesu "/opt/gnome/bin/gdmsetup". I did this chance to my user. The funny thing is that when i log out this change was lost. I read on the manual about changing entries for all user using nautilus (applications-all-users:///). I edited the GDM configuration icon again with no success. But how could I edit menu entries for all users without been root? So I logged in as root, typed applications-all-users:/// changed the GDM configuration icon. But then the GDM configuration icon for my user disappeared. Running as root the icon is there and with the chance in place (from "gdmsetup" to "/opt/gnome/bin/gdmsetup"). I am using the usr-local-bin packages... Does anyone have any idea of what is going on? Which configuration files are been used? Thanks Gustavo
