Hi all
I hope somebody can help me. I upgraded to SUSE 9.0 not without a lot of problems, but the main thing is I lost my ( Internet) network card connection. Orinoco -pci, Netgear Ma311. The card is detected by Yast ,Eth0, automatic address setup via DHCP, Then the hostname and domain name. Should the hostname be the IP address from my ISP? and what should the domain name be? Or are there other things I should check or do?
The default gateway comes up as 192.168.1.200. I'm back on the slowest dialup you can think of and the connection cuts of on random (six times in the last 8 minutes). I lost a number of emails as well because I know it was asked before on the list ( I think).
Is the network card connected to a modem or a router? If it is setup to obtain an address via a DHCP server, all the settings should then be available. Check that the firewall settings do not stop a dhcp client from updating routing or resolv.conf files. LW999
