The NVidia and Microsoft font patches both died during my install. I wasn't too impressed. Your best bet is to go directly to the NVidia site. They have a program there which will compile and install the drivers for you (I think it will even set up your XF86Config). In simple steps 1. Go to the NVidia website and download the Driver File: NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg2.run 2. Logout of KDE or whatever it is you're using. 3. Hit Ctrl-Alt-F1 to go into console 1. Log in. 4. Type telinit 3 to quit X. 5. Type "sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg2.run" to run the installer, it should do most of the work 6. Type telinit 5 to restart X - you should be brought straight to the login screen, if not it's Ctrl-Alt-F7 7. Login, and try a few GL screensavers. If they work, great! If they don't work i) Create a backup of /etc/X11/XF86Config ii) Edit /etc/X11/XF86Config and replace the Driver line "nvidia" with "nv" It's been an age since I did this, and I haven't done it with the latest SuSE, so I may be wrong. In particular XF86Config may be called XF86Config-4 and I may have gotten nvidia and nv mixed up. If you see both XF86Config and XF86Config-4 in the /etc/X11 directory, go for the latter. -- Bryan
