Ok. I'll try. But, it's the first time i install Suse, how many times need Suse to release new kernel version with correct this problem of acpi. I know on my m/b it's correct since 2.4.22 by original kernel. I hope suse will release new kernel first... =============
Well actually the SuSE kernels are fine now! There are no problems with acpi, when acpi is bug free on a good motherboard. SuSE kernels have always detected and setup correctly on all the motherboards I have used with good acpi implementation. ======---------------------

Yes, I had same problem. I am also using P4 with HT and smp kernel from 9.0 disks. System processes were using upto 40%. Solved with boot option pci=noacpi. Now system processes are below 1%.

You might want to try one of Mantel's newer smp kernels to see if you can get your buggy acpi to work correctly, but quite likely it will have trouble fixing what the hardware maker failed to do too.
