I have seen that before, it looks like you are running 1600X1200, but your desktop is 800X600. You did nopt say, but it looks as though you are running and LCD display. Anyhow, try selecting the VESA display type which whould get you the 1600X1200 resolution. I am running 1920X1200 and had to manually enter resolution in one of the tabs for the display under sax. I've been trying (again) to get the nvidia drivers working on my SuSE 8.2 system (GeForce GF5200).
I've got the drivers compiled and sort-of working (I'm running an updated kernel, although still a SuSE one, so there is no precompiled driver). The "sort-of" is down to the fact that, if I use the nvidia drivers and run X, I get my usual 1600x1200 desktop (AFAICS) but viewed through a tiny portal (probably 800x600), which I can slide around the desktop. This is, obviously, not ideal! I thought something like this might happen because, when I run SaX2, it only offers me an 800x600 screenmode to test.
Does anyone know how I can get it showing my normal desktop size?
As a side issue (probably), my fonts look much poorer when running the nvidia driver than the nv driver - much blockier. This might be an artefact of the screensize but has anyone else seen this?
