No. It's a transient behaviour. When I fire up X, it's fine talking to the mouse on mouse0. After some period of time, it suddenly stops working in the middle of a session, and just restarting hotplug _doesn't solve the problem_. The X server is holding mouse0 open, so when hotplug restarts, it allocates the next available mouse "slot", which is mouse1, which the X server is *not* listening to (and shouldn't be), so the only way that I've found to get it working again is to kill the X server and restart hotplug while the X server is down.
Perhaps... just an idea. - Unplug the mouse (maybe wait for the beep?). - Restart the server by pressing [ctrl][alt][backpsace] when you are at the login screen. - Replug the mouse. If it works, it should be faster. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
