[2003-10-15 07:45]: I don't believe the upgrades are *supposed* to include the manuals. But I do recall that many people who ordered the 8.2 upgrade *did* get the full product. They shouldn't really expect that every time they order an upgrade.
I bought 8.2 Pro Update (it says "update" on the box) and the only manual included is the Administration Guide (the User Guide is NOT included), but it includes the 5 CDs and the 2 DVDs that are in the full product. It's not the full product. I expect -- but do not know -- that 9.0 Pro Update will be the same.
I don't understand why SuSE doesn't explain this on their web site.

Hmmm! The new website? Well, when I first went to the new site it seemed nice, but at the time it was imcomplete in some aspects. I assumed they were in the process of updating it. So, I waited. Over the next few days it did indeed get updated. However, I would appear that certain things are no longer present. Or if they are present they are not in the same places and not as intuitively accessible as before. Case in point, where is the list of packages included with the new (or old for that matter) versions? Used to be that one could click a link on the product page, in the case of Personal vs Pro version, wherein a long list of the packages was presented. Now what is presented is a testimonial by one of the head devs about what is included, but in a very generic way. No mention of versions, or a package list. There are other things that seem to have gone away as well. Seems that SuSE's new marketing firm has gone with the standard "give um flash" over the former presentation of details and discrete information. I mean, what version of 2.6 beta version is to be included? What version of Wmaker, blackbox, samba, etc...? Though I like the "new" look of the website, the format leaves much to be desired, such as mentioned in the previous post. I would like to keep the new look, but also the older style format wherein more info about the product is available. Remember, this is the Linux community and we as a group like access to all those little things and don't really appreciated presentations by the marketing droids with their "package the product presentation as pretty and fluffy" that they seem to insist upon. Just my $0.02 worth.
