Hi Choth,
From: Puth Chan Choth [mailto:choth@of.forum.org.kh] Hello all,
I am a fish out of water that I cannot control over the last login users records. The last command cannot help and I do not know where SuSE8.0 store the last login records of the users. All users, I set their default shell to /bin/false. So how can I write a simple bash script or Perl to control over the last login of the users?
How should your users log in if you set their default-shell to /bin/false? Which logins do you want to log/view? Console/SSH, HTTP, FTP, ... Each daemon has its own logfile - look for them in /var/log. Shell-logins are (usually) logged in /var/log/wtmp (it's what the "last"-command uses).
Thank you so much for your assistance.
Best regards, Choth
cheers, Stefan
