I've tried everything I can think of in all sorts of ways and I still cannot get 3D running on my Linux 8.2 system I bought two weeks ago. SuSE tech support doesn't want to deal with it and will NOT even give me over to PAID support so I can get this problem solved. [...] You could have just gone here..
Nice job Ben! But obviously this is something SuSE Support should know and could have informed Dianne about. So don't fry her to hard for being upset, we need more females running Linux...:-)
My wife installed SuSE on her Mac by herself. :) I agree we need more females running Linux and I know quite a few who do. And yes, SuSE support should have known that the ATI driver was required for 3D but if the 2D driver works and SuSE is actually installed then there ends "installation support". I don't mean to be harsh and I most likely wouldn't have been if that " But Microsoft whatever..does whatever.." wouldn't have been brought up. This isn't windows. And quite frankly I problably would have been just as snotty with a male at this point. With all the worms, virus's and other crap that Microsoft's malware spreads on a daily basis. I don't care about Microsoft anymore. When my logs stop getting filled with port 135 hits and other assorted goodies..then I mean be a little nicer. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.
