I just installed suse for the first time via ftp. I noticed that openoffice have a dependency with jre1.3.x but this package cannot be retrieved via ftp. I got the package from sun and installed, but openoffice still thinks java is not installed. I tried to get version jre1.4.2 and again openoffice complained about the unsolved dependency. With Yast I can ignore this dependency but when I decided to try apt It simple didn't allow me to do anything until this dependency is solved. Does anyone have any idea on how to solve this? Where could I get the java package? Or, how could I tell apt to ignore this specific dependency? I think is something to do with apt.conf.
Appreciate any help
Thanks Gustavo
