Hi All!
I am almost embarrassed to ask this question, but I cannot find the answer myself. A couple of weeks ago I upgraded to 8.2. Now when I log into KDE I no log have the window showing me the contents of /var/adm/messages. I have look in a number of different places and I cannot find where to configure this.
Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

jimmo, Are you talking about the "xconsole" that gives you regular system messages while booted up in KDE? If so, you just need to go to /opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/Xsetup. Run that shell script and your xconsole will return and come back the next time you boot. I alsos use kwatch, which I think is better, but you have to start it as root to have it read your /var/log/messages file. I tried to make it the default in that shell script, but it refuses to run on startup, like xconsole did. Anyone have an idea about that? How to get kwatch to start automatically as root?
