Hello all,
I have to build an offsite email and DNS server, and in order to service this box, I use SSH. For my own internal network, I use Yast2 / online update GUI to easily do updates. Is there a command line function / name to keep current with SuSE's Yast2 online updates to manage a remote box? All previous remote installs have been with RH, so I am unfamililar with SuSE's termonology for this.
Thanks for any input.
Try
# you
to configure it. It is text-based (ncurses) so it works over ssh. The only difference i had seen, is that there is no chance to exclude packages from update like in you@yast2 (Taboo). You have to edit a config-file manually really only if you want this, of course.

Even better, try ssh -X root@myboxname_or_ipnumber Type in your password as usual and then type yast2 and hey presto you have the X11 version. -- Allister Gearon Engineering Dept. Coombe Works Derby Road Kingsbridge Devon, TQ7 1JL United Kingdom engineers@fairford.co.uk
