Thanks. Again, I figured that I needed to start /etc/init.d/nfs on boot but the insserv command helps set things up quicker. Andreas Winkelmann wrote:

Hello,
I have placed nfs mounted directories in fstab and noticed that they are not mounted during boot. It seems that fstab is processed before networking starts however, shouldnt NFS entries still be processed at some point during boot???
The last line from my fstab:
server.mydom.com:/export/test /mnt/dir nfs defaults,ro 0 0
Note: 'mount -a' works correctly and mounts all nfs filesystems manualy. However, I need them automaticaly mounted at boot.
# insserv nfs # reboot
