Not knowing what is in the mails you're referring to, I can think of three possibilities: 1. A mess-up by the person creating the spam 2. It's not empty, the 0k is a rounding error and it really contains something, possibly a signature or a vcard, which sometimes shows up as attachments in some mailers 3. Some sort of weird exploit of a bug in Outlook
