I checked this out and it appears that it does not have the actual xfree86 4.3 package itself but upgrades and updates, etc. Don't I need the actual package itself or am I mistaken? Maybe it is there and I just do not recognize it. I am such a newbie on this particular subject. Thanks for the site though since it does offer great stuff for 8.
Marcia, I'm afraid I don't have an 8.0 around here to test it with, but as long as you have the SuSE default X packages around to reinstall if things don't work well, you should be able to test those packages without having to worry about things breaking just put the packages you upgrade in a folder somewhere, and if the updated X doesn't work well, just cd to that folder and do rpm -Uvh --oldpackage *.rpm to get back to where you were before. Also make a backup of /etc/X11/XF86Config so you can restore it afterwards
