Hi, It's all in the subject line. I'm using a self assembled PC with a Super Micro P3TDE6 MotherBoard with 2 Pentium III CPU's.
I've seen a similar problem in this month's mails. The difference is I get a blank screen with a blinking cursor in the upper left corner and a complete freeze of the machine, after the window with "kernel loading...". Only the reset button is active. Tipical answers to this problem was: "switch to text mode"; "use a different screen resolution" and the like. None of these actions seems to work for me.
Note that I'm able to launch the 7.3 installation without any problem. What is changed in the installation kernel, in 8.2??
I'm usimg a nVidia card on AGP. I have a ATI card that I used in place of the nVidia, but the problem remains. Even an old Trio PCI card shows the same problem.
At this point, I think that the problem is not in the graphic card... BTW, I didn't find this MB in the hardware compatibility list. Anyone knows of problems in using this MB?
Try to install without acpi. A selection in the boot-menu from the install-cd/dvd. -- Gruß, Andreas
