Do "ps ax | grep mysqld" and confirm the server is running. If yes then try "mysql --user=root -p" NOTE: "-p" is your MySQL password and not your system password. If that works the client works - then it is a cron problem. If the client fails, read up on MySQL permissions.

MySQL fails on startup and the daily CRON job reports an error, however, I can login via Knoda. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

mysql --user=root -p works fine. Any more suggestions? Also, I noticed
