After following the instructions posted in the April archives(/2003-Apr/2063.html) I am still struggling to get an internet connection. I've downloaded the appropriate file speedmgmt.tar.gz, compiled it in /usr/src and followed the instructions as posted on http://sdb.suse.de/sdb/en/html/configSpeedTouch.html I get no error messages but when I do the final configuration using the YaST control center, DSL configuration I'm uncertain to what options/configurations I should use. I've made sure I have used the correct VPI/VCI (0.38 for BT) and set the PPP mode to PPP over ATM but still no luck. It complains about unknown host. I've searched throughout various postings and discussion groups with http://metalicom.demon.co.uk/downloads/ADSL/SpeedTouch-HOWTO-en.html being mentioned a few times however since I'm new to Linux and since it talks about Kernel configuration I'm reluctant to try it especially if I'm missing something obvious. Has anyone got any ideas what I might be doing wrong? thanks Justin _________________________________________________________________ On the move?
