Hi are you sure that is the problem because I have in my computer 1GB of RAM memory and I have no problems installing SUSE 8.2 from ftp or from CD. Check the log file probably there you could find what is really happening. Jose BandiPat wrote:

Gary, Have you ran the "memory test" program to be sure all your ram is working? Have you tried removing one stick of 512mb ram to see if that cures the problem?
