It would seem that apmd is not going to work on this Toshiba Satellite, no matter what I do. The best-case scenario is having to issue the command, 'rcalsasound restart' whenever the box is suspended --if apmd is not activated in runlevel or kernel; the worst-case scenario is having to reboot each & every time the box is suspended to get the sound, network (or both) to work afterward --when apmd is loaded either in runlevel (it doesn't work when loaded by kernel). So... the *only* thing I would like to know at this point is: Is there a way to get some script to auto-magically execute 'rcalsasound restart' when the box comes out of suspension/standby so that I don't have to futz w/issuing the command from the keyboard every time I reopen the lid!? ...CH -- SuSE has become a pitb
