Go to Yast and set it to graphical login.
3) I can no longer access the internet. It dials, connects, pwd ok, then disc with an error saying the /etc/ppp/peers/kppp file is missing.
I remember that error (packaging mistake). Add the file. /etc/ppp/peers/kppp with "plugin passwordfs.so" as the comments (one line, minus the quotes).
4) I am also getting permission errors when searching after logging in as SU. Related?
