If this means that you cannot see anything at all during the entire boot process AND your SuSE < 8.1 at then ignore this. If you can at least see the countdown (which is done at low-res) then choose Linux failsafe mode. This will give you a command-line login. Login as root and edit the file /boot/grub/menu.lst. Change the first instance of "vga=XXXX" to "vga=normal" (right below "title linux"). Run sax2 -l (low resolution) and change the graphics settings. Rebootski I will try that on my next reboot on that machine. I have this going thrue a switch box to share the monitor/keyboard/mouse to two machines. Worked fine on the old monitor but then crts have better resolution then the LCD's for now.. I'm running 8.2 by the way. forgot to say that in first message. thanks. jack
