If this means that you cannot see anything at all during the entire boot process AND your SuSE < 8.1 at then ignore this. If you can at least see the countdown (which is done at low-res) then choose Linux failsafe mode. This will give you a command-line login. Login as root and edit the file /boot/grub/menu.lst. Change the first instance of "vga=XXXX" to "vga=normal" (right below "title linux"). Run sax2 -l (low resolution) and change the graphics settings. I just got a new 17 inch LCD monitor. I get the following error message when I boot my linux box up when this monitor is hooked to it. Signal out of range h: 46.4KHz v: 86.7 Hz mode should be below 1280 x 1050 / 75 Hz.
How can I fix this so that I can use this Monitor with my linux box.
