I need to route the block of public IP's they leased to a few machines on the inside. What books or docs do you guys recommend for this? I've used the Susefirewall for use at home and it's worked just fine. I don't recall the details of the susefirewall docs but I think it can do WAN and LAN routing. There aren't any books on Suse that I know
http://sourceforge.net/projects/susefaq has the unofficial manual for the SuSEfirewall2 http://linux-ip.net is good documentation also
of....the books I've seen for linux are from oreilly and places like that. Should I use the susefirewall method or should I use the more "common" methods like those described in this book:
Building Internet Firewalls, 2nd Edition - o'reilly is the publisher.
That is the must to read IMHO. SuSEfirewall2 is a packet filter (also a screening router) so combining it with proxies for the services you are offering should give you an acceptable security solution -- Togan Muftuoglu Unofficial SuSE FAQ Maintainer http://dinamizm.ath.cx
