We just had a Linux installfest. Two of the participants had new Dell
laptops. I tried to install SuSE 8.2 on it, but it hung up while
configuring packages. I tried about 4 different things, then went to the
Red Hat 9 CDs. Red Hat installed perfectly. I would have tried a
non-graphical install next, but I wanted to get the install moving as we
unexpectedly had more attendees than I thought. One of my key volunteers
was late and the other one was trying to get the wireless router online
with the MIT network.
