Hello all,
I am using SuSE 8.1 and I have a USB modem, but I do not know how to make it works. This is the information that I got: 56K SoftModem - Bus: USB - Class (spec): Modem - Class: Modem - Device: 56K SoftModem - Device identifier: 226644 - Device name: /dev/ttyACM0 - Model: SGS Thomson Microelectronics 56K SoftModem
Thank you so much for your assistance.

Chan, USB modems are difficult at best to get working and I notice that yours is designated as a "SoftModem", which I suspect is going to make it doubly difficult. The Soft part leads me to believe it is a software type modem not a full hardware type. The software types or WinModems are few and far between that work well. Sorry, I couldn't give you better news. I don't think you will have much luck with that one. Patrick -- --- KMail v1.5.2 --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.2 --- Registered Linux User #225206 On any other day, that might seem strange...
