Hi ALL,
Sorry to ask this here but going direct to Knoppix got strange and cryptic answer.
When I boot a Knoppix CD (the latest one with KDE 3.1.1) whenever I try to change certain things it asks for password. The FAQ and the email answer both say Knoppix has no passwords. They seem to be concerned that Knoppix not be used for unsavory purposes, so there seems to be no way to change anythings that require a password?
Have any of you been able to assign or change a password in Knoppix. I need step by step, not just yes or no :o)
Thanks! ................. PeterB --
use sudo to start the application you're trying to use, like: sudo apt-get to make it root privileges stick: sudo su - oh, and before you start an X11 application: export DISPLAY=:0 need more steps? ;-) Marcel
