Hey Group: I was just looking in /var/log/boot.msg for the normal checks. I am finding a interesting situation. <4>Kernel command line: root=/dev/hda2 vga=0x31a pcibus=66 hdd=ide-scsi hddlun=0 splash=0 splash=0 Yet in /boot/grub/ less menu.lst shows title linux kernel (hd0,0)/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda2 vga=0x31a pcibus=66 hdd=ide-scsi hddlun=0 splash=0 showopts Note the addition of "splash=0 splash=0" Also <6>ide: Assuming 33MHz system bus speed for PIO modes; override with idebus=xx. This I believe is coming from a improper "pcibus=66". As I remember "pci=biosirq" is valid. Has anyone seen a similar problem or at load time I blow it? I don't recall setting this a load time. -- 73 de Donn Washburn __ " http://www.hal-pc.org/~n5xwb " Ham Callsign N5XWB / / __ __ __ __ __ __ __ 307 Savoy St. / /__ / / / \/ / / /_/ / \ \/ / Sugar Land, TX 77478 /_____/ /_/ /_/\__/ /_____/ /_/\_\ LL# 1.281.242.3256 a MSDOS Virus "Free Zone" OS Email: n5xwb@hal-pc.org Info: http://www.knoppix.net
