How do I add a second IP (eth0:1) to a NIC in the new SuSE 8.2, using yast
I could not find a way either to set an alias IP address in yast. So, what I did was to go into /etc/sysconfig/network and make a file called ifcfg-eth0:0 (or whatever eth0:x) and I put this in there. This makes it permanent upon any boot. NETMASK=255.255.255.0 BOOTPROTO=static DEVICE=eth0:0 IPADDR=whatever address you want to give here.
