How do I add a second IP (eth0:1) to a NIC in the new SuSE 8.2, using yast
Does 8.2, like 8.1, not use iproute2? If so, then the use of eth0:1 is depreciated. Rather than creating a separate 'device' (as you had to do when using ifconfig) you now just associate multiple IP addresses with the one eth0 device. I don't know how this is done in Yast, but the command to do it is ip add add a.b.c.d dev eth0 where a.b.c.d is your second IP address.
