Tom, StarOffice probably has better filters than OO and templates, graphics and a couple of other things commercial that can't be included with OO. I think the spell checker is better in SO6 as well, but that may be improved in OO 1.1beta, I have not had an opportunity to test that out. Be sure also to get the patch updates for SO6, as it fixes many bugs. If you are just running the original install of SO6, then by all means get the patches. I actually use both and seldom see much difference in their behavior, except for those things mentioned.
