Dear List,
Forgive me if this has been answered. I have bone a fresh install of 8.2 on an existing PC that had 8.1 installed. The new install is on a new HD and the old HD has been setup as DATA1.
Now I'm trying to get the new KMail 1.5.1 on KDE 3.1.1 to import my old folders from the 8.1 KDE 3.0.5 KMail. The new KMail has an 'import tool' but the choices do NOT include importing from a KMail source. What am I missing.
I assume that I could move the sub-dir Mail from my old {home} dir but I know how assuming can hurt you. The KMail Handbook and FAQ do not hepl.
Thanks! .............. PeterB
Well, the best thing would be to have made a /home that you could have carried over to the new system. It is not too late to do that and I would suggest it. You could: 1) Logout from KDE on 8.2 2) Go to a command prompt 3) Login as root (or your userid) 4) rsync -auvzr <path to old>/home/ /home/ And copy everything from your old /home to the new /home. Having done that, you will not only have all of your Kmail folders but the rest of the KDE setup as well... icons, everything. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S.
