Marcus, While trying to rebuild the libgphoto2 libs, I found out the culprit that was causing the unhappiness. There are 2 versions of the PTP driver. I moved the PTP2 one and then gphoto works correctly. There is where one can look to see why it won't play nice. I do not know alot about programming so I cannot be of much help :( I will when I get a chance try and mail the info to the maintainer of the PTP libs. Hopefully it all can be ironed out. BTW, man I did not realize how much stuff needed the libgphoto2 libraries!
