Hello all: I would like to know how to go about creating a custom initrd that is exactly what the current /boot/initrd is but with the 3ware raid card driver added so that I can build a kernel with the 3Ware driver as a module and not get a kernel panic unable to mount root. I assume that I would use the mkinitrd command but I am unsure how to do it. What happens when I boot a kernel that has the 3Ware driver in the kernel and the initrd has the 3ware module builtin? The reason I ask is that my current kernel has the 3ware driver built in and I tried to build a kernel with the 3ware driver as a module, but it failed to mount root. Can a system have more than one initrd for a couple different kernels? Thanks, Jim
