Hi, Eric, 1) 98% of the included in SuSE Linux licensed under GPL (and other open source variants like BSD license). It means you can copy and sell it. But if you modify GPL packages, you must publish you modifications under the same GPL license. 2) There is the SuSE YaST, proprietary program, which you cannot sell, but which is freely distributable at no charge (correct me if I am wrong, see YaST license). 3) There are demos of commercial software, which are worthless anyway until you pay for the license. So, in short (and 99% for sure, I am not SuSE affiliate), you can copy SUSE Linux CDs, install on any number of servers and workstations, give them away, but you cannot sell copies because of restrictions of YaST license. Is it legal to copy the SuSE 8.2 Professional CD's and distribute them to your friends? SuSE DOES offer the packages on ftp anyways...but is that a whole seperate issue.
